Case study
Every waste movement, stamped and sealed
Wastestamp is RGA’s waste chain-of-custody product: a physical stamp and a sealed digital record for every waste movement, in live use across producers, carriers and destinations.

The challenge
Every load of waste that leaves a site carries legal obligations: a duty of care that runs from producer to final destination, transfer and consignment notes to raise, carrier registrations and permits to check, and evidence to keep for years. In practice the system runs on paper — notes go missing, details are transcribed wrong, and when an auditor or regulator asks for the chain of custody, assembling it is slow, manual work.
Our approach
Wastestamp bridges the physical and digital worlds with a stamp. Each transfer is stamped with a unique code on the real-world paperwork, tying it to a sealed digital record of the movement — what was moved, when, by whom, and under which waste classification codes.
The platform produces the compliance documents properly: waste transfer notes and hazardous waste consignment notes aligned to the UK duty of care regime, with the evidence chain attached. Producers, carriers and destinations each hold their own account and contribute their own leg of the journey — sharing is explicit and per organisation, and a movement confirmed by all three parties is evidenced three ways.
Verified transfer data then feeds ESG, compliance and cost analytics, and an API supports integration with clients’ own systems. Wastestamp was conceived, designed, built and is hosted and operated by RGA — it is in live use at wastestamp.co.uk.
