Modernising Project Delivery: Microsoft Fabric-Driven Integration with Oracle P6 EPPM
UK water-sector contractors scaling operations across multiple regions.
The challenge
Organisations relied on localised project controls, isolated schedules, and spreadsheet-heavy processes, resulting in fragmented data, inconsistent reporting, and poor visibility across programmes. Project controls teams spent excessive time manually exporting and reconciling information for reporting deadlines, and manual processes prevented scaling needed for complex programme delivery.
Our approach
RGA integrated Oracle P6 EPPM with Microsoft Fabric using the P6 REST API and Webservices API, replacing manual exports with automated data pipelines feeding a governed Fabric data warehouse. We delivered a standardised project controls blueprint aligning coding structures, milestones, and reporting across regions with consistent data definitions and automated refresh cycles.
Outcomes
- Real-time visibility of performance across every project and region
- Reliable, auditable baseline control, reducing drift and disputes
- Early warning system for issues such as slippage and resourcing conflicts
- Automated client and regulatory reporting, with accuracy up and manual effort down
- Scalable processes for confident portfolio-level decisions
