Case study
Production you can prove
Digitally assured measurement of production across linear infrastructure programmes — mains renewal and trunk mains delivery — for a major supplier to a UK water company, with ODI reporting that is accurate, auditable and regulator-ready.
The challenge
Outcome Delivery Incentives put money on delivered outputs, and the reported numbers have to survive scrutiny — from the water company, from independent assurers and ultimately from the regulator. Across linear programmes such as mains renewal and trunk mains delivery, production evidence is created in the field, planned in one system and valued in another, and assembling an auditable picture of what was actually installed is slow, manual work.
Our approach
Using Microsoft Fabric as the governed data backbone, we integrate field capture systems, planning data and commercial controls into a single, version-controlled production model. Validation rules are embedded and workflows controlled, creating transparent, end-to-end data lineage from asset installation through to reported outputs — a single source of truth for what has been delivered.
Outcomes
- A single source of truth for production across linear infrastructure programmes
- End-to-end data lineage from asset installation to reported outputs
- Embedded validation rules and controlled workflows
- ODI production reporting that is accurate, auditable and regulator-ready
- Evidence that stands up to independent third-party assurance
